Fresenius Kabi Australia supports artists having disabilities
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and in line with our philosophy of „caring for life“, Fresenius Kabi Australia supports Studio ARTES, a unique organization that provides tailor-made creative activities and life skills for adults living with a wide range of disabilities.
Employees of Fresenius Kabi joined the Studio ARTES annual fundraising event “A Day in my Wheels”. Prior to the charity event the Fresenius Kabi employees collected donations totaling $3,500 via a fundraising web page linked to the Studio ARTES website. Employees as well as their families and friends were encouraged to donate funds and Fresenius Kabi Australia matched this amount taking the total donation to $7,000.
“This year, the fundraising event was even more important than usual, as a fire recently destroyed the studio, leaving the members without any art supplies or a place to meet,” says Juan Villar, Managing Director, one of the participants of Fresenius Kabi. “We are very proud to have been able to support the Studio ARTES and feel especially committed.”
More than one billion people around the globe have moderate or severe disabilities, which is around 15% of the world population. Due to the increasing number of ageing people and the global rise of chronic diseases the number of disabilities is growing significantly.1 Persons with disabilities experience widespread barriers.
