At Fresenius Kabi, careers don’t always need to follow a straight line, and Milagros Ovejero’s path is a perfect example of how curiosity, courage and continuous learning can open new doors. For more than 15 years, she has shaped her career across teams, countries and business areas, developing expertise through hands‑on experience and meaningful challenges. Her story shows how international collaboration and varied experiences can shape an impactful career.

How Milagros’ international career began

Milagros started her career in the northern region of Argentina in an operational homecare role. Early in her work, close contact with patients shaped her understanding of the impact of quality care: “Homecare services can greatly improve patients’ quality of life, especially for those who depend on long‑term nutritional support. Seeing this impact up close influenced the path I wanted to follow.”

As her responsibilities expanded, she moved from Buenos Aires to Paris to oversee Enteral Nutrition products for several countries across Latin America and Asia, including China, Singapore, India, and parts of the Middle East. In this role she collaborated with colleagues from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and learned how to best support diverse business needs. 

Her journey later led her to Barcelona, where she stepped into her current position. What moved her forward was not a fixed plan, but a willingness to explore new environments and continue learning.

What helped Milagros grow in her international roles?

Across her roles, Milagros gained experience in clinical work, commercial topics, national coordination, and regional leadership. Each chapter broadened her perspective and strengthened her confidence to take on increasingly complex responsibilities.

Education also played a key role. Her MBA and further training helped her understand broader healthcare systems and prepare her for international work. Reflecting on her transition into a global environment, she shares: “Taking my first international role felt like stepping onto a bigger stage. I could suddenly see how one decision in one country could touch patients around the world.”

Behind every step were colleagues, managers, and mentors who encouraged her to stretch her capabilities and explore new possibilities, a reflection of the collaborative spirit that drives Fresenius Kabi.
