A Green Tea with Woodrow Elam

Inspecting, coordinating, improving: Join Woodrow Elam, Packacking Operator in Wilson, USA, as he brings calm, clarity and care to his daily work on the packaging line.

It’s 6 a.m. in Wilson, North Carolina, and Woodrow Elam has already finished his green tea – his morning beverage of choice – before heading to the production floor. He kicks off the day with a team briefing and a clear goal: making sure every product that leaves the line is free of leaks, particles, or cosmetic defects. As a Packaging Operator at Fresenius Kabi in Wilson, USA, Woodrow is part of a 30-person team helping to ensure that every unit is safe, clean, and ready to be shipped to patients around the world. “I take pride in making sure things are done right. That’s what matters most to me.”

Before joining Fresenius Kabi, Woodrow spent over 16 years as a Sergeant at the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office. He later worked in logistics before bringing his skills to healthcare manufacturing. His past roles taught him to stay sharp, lead with clarity, and adapt fast – skills he now applies on the packaging line to keep quality high and problems low.

His favorite part of the job? “Inspiring my team and reaching our goals. This gives me satisfaction, knowing that we are helping patients.” What drives him most is purpose. “Being able to work in an environment where I know why I’m here doesn’t feel like work – because I love what I’m doing,” he says. “This is truly a company that believes in its employees and in excellence for patient care.”
