Powered by Purpose: A NICU Journey of Hope & Resilience
When her son Jonah was born three months early, Amber Hannon, Senior Account Manager, Parenteral Nutrition at Fresenius Kabi, found herself on the other side of the health care experience — not as a professional partner to clinicians, but as a mom in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Those early days were filled with uncertainty and courage. “Jonah weighed two and a half pounds when he was born,” Amber recalls. “Seeing him connected to so many lines and monitors was overwhelming — but every nurse, every physician, and every dietitian who cared for him gave us hope. Their compassion meant everything.”
Amber had always been passionate about helping clinicians provide lifesaving nutrition to their patients. But after her own family’s experience, her work took on even deeper meaning.
“I’ve always believed in what we do at Fresenius Kabi,” she says. “But when you experience the impact of patient nutrition firsthand — when it’s your own child — it reinforces just how important every single role in this company really is.”
Jonah is now thriving, and Amber says the experience continues to guide her every day. “It’s a reminder that behind every product, every process, and every partnership are real patients and families — and we each play a part in helping them when it matters most.”
Her story reflects what drives every colleague at Fresenius Kabi: a shared purpose to put patients first and help people around the world live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
