Fresenius Kabi Interns Register Dozens of Blood Stem Cell Donors with NMDP

This summer, across Fresenius Kabi U.S. locations, interns partnered with NMDP℠ to lead a donor awareness campaign supporting patients with life-threatening blood disorders, such as leukemia and lymphoma. NMDP is the world’s most diverse blood stem cell registry.

Interns hosted education events at their sites, engaging employees in conversation about the urgent need for blood stem cell donors. They encouraged eligible colleagues to join the global registry and facilitated on-site cheek swab collections—the first step toward potentially becoming a match for patients in need of lifesaving transplants. Through these efforts, the interns were able to add dozens of new potential blood stem cell donors to the NMDP Registry.

In addition to their efforts, Fresenius Kabi is proud to make a $10,000 donation to NMDP on behalf of the 2025 summer intern class to support life-saving research and the expansion of the blood stem cell donor registry.

"We're incredibly grateful for the passion and creativity the Fresenius Kabi interns brought to this summer's campaign. Their dedication to advancing our mission, connecting more patients with their cure, has made a meaningful impact. Partnerships like this not only help grow the registry but also inspire hope in the communities we serve."

— Angie Fitzgerald, NMDP - Vice President, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships

This initiative not only supported a critical healthcare mission. It also showed the power of empowering early-career professionals to lead with purpose and make a tangible difference.

Thank you to our interns and all employees who joined the registry—your efforts embody Fresenius Kabi’s Committed to Life mission to help enhance patient care and improve lives.
