Clinical nutrition is much more than a complement to treatment; it is a powerful tool to improve patient outcomes, reduce complications, and shorten hospital stays.

However, in many hospitals across Latin America and Canada, implementing high-quality nutritional practices is still a challenge. That is why Fresenius Kabi created the Fellowship Program. 

What is the Fellowship Program?

A unique opportunity for healthcare professionals to become part of a regional collaboration network, share real-world knowledge, and work together to build stronger, better-trained, and more integrated Nutrition Therapy (NT) teams.

Through practical sessions, experience sharing, and discussions on key topics, the program supports meaningful improvements in clinical nutrition practices within hospitals.

Healthcare professionals part of a Nutrition Therapy Team who are committed to delivering excellent nutritional care and improving their patients’ experience through high-quality nutrition therapy from any of the below countries:

Why should you be part of this Fellowship Program?

Because it is more than just training. It is a unique professional experience that connects you with the best practices in clinical nutrition and prepares you to lead change in your institution.

The program begins with virtual educational sessions and continues with an intensive in-person week at the prestigious Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo, Brazil. 

During this experience, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about advanced clinical nutrition protocols 

  • Experience the dynamics of multidisciplinary teams firsthand 

  • Participate in practical discussions on how to improve the quality of nutritional care in your hospital 

  • Learn new skills and practice nutrition assessment tools, e.g. ultrasound, BIA. 

  • Opportunity to develop and refine your teams nutritional quality improvement project.

What happens next?

Upon returning to your institution, you will apply what you have learned by implementing a quality improvement project. You will be supported by mentors who will guide you step by step throughout the process.

These initiatives will be evaluated based on their real impact, long-term sustainability, and potential to inspire other teams.

Additionally, there will be an opportunity to present you project at local and/or international congresses.

How to apply?

  • Step 1: Identify a quality improvement initiative that your team intends to implement within your institution.

  • Step 2: Complete both the application form and the Project Proposal template, ensuring all relevant details about the initiative are clearly documented.

  • Step 3: Secure formal approval from both the Head of Department and the Head of the Institution.

  • Step 4: Send all the required documents to the following email address: UFCNFellowshipProgram@fresenius-kabi.com
