Continuous Processing, Fast PRC Access

CATSmart’s proprietary centrifuge system continuously pushes shed blood through the spiral channel of the washing chamber and simultaneously separates, washes and packs red cells.

The PRC sensor monitors the RBC interface and auto-adjusts pump flow rates for optimal results.
  • Visualization of incoming and outgoing hematocrit values and process parameters on screen.
  • Autostart blood processing automatically starts the wash program based on a preselected volume.
  • One-size-fits-all efficiency with single-sized washing chamber can process any volume of shed blood.
  • CATSmart eliminates >99% of non-emulsified fats while maintaining an average hematocrit of 60% regardless of wash program1.

Four Specific Wash Programs

Low Volume wash3 is especially designed to process even small shed blood volumes containing about 40 mL of red cells with a high recovery rate.

Smart wash3 ensures optimal balance between PRC output rate and wash-out performance. Standard program is recommended for the majority of surgical cases.

Flex wash3 is recommended to be used in standard or routine cases where highly contaminated or damaged blood processing or low volume is not a factor. It can be adjusted between washing factors. A fast processing of shed blood with high concentrate quality. Lower saline usage in comparison to Smart wash.

Emergency wash3 is the fastest blood processing program for quick access to washed PRC under emergency conditions.
