Volulyte® 6%

Volulyte^® – Voluven^® starch inside

• 6% hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 in a balanced electrolyte solution
• Lower chloride load vs. saline based colloid solutions
• Contains acetate as precursor of bicarbonate in order to counteract the development of hyperchloremic metabolic acidosis

Volulyte^® is indicated for treatmen​​t of hypovolemia due to acute blood loss when crystalloids alone are not considered sufficient.

Hypovolemia

Hypovolemia is associated with disturbances in the macro- and microcirculation.

• Macro- and microcirculatory disturbances give rise to diminished organ blood flow and decreased oxygen supply to various organs, and finally to functional organ failure.
